Transcript Partial transcript

Machine transcription of this recording. The words are the recognizer's, except where a passage is marked as corrected or machine re-recognized; most have not been checked against the audio, so words, numbers and names can be misheard. It describes what was said. It cannot establish who voted how, an amount or an outcome. A time links to its passage, and “Copy link” copies that link. “▶ Play” opens the recording at that moment, on YouTube; on this page it moves the player above the transcript.

Speakers were separated by voice. A plain name rests on evidence tied to that voice; “provisional” is a name from an earlier text-only pass and is not verified; “Speaker N” is an unidentified voice.

the professional magician. If you're a balloon artist, we have that. If you're a face painter, we have face paint. We have a lot of different items used in the entertainment industry. In addition to offering magic supplies, we have magic classes, we have a magic club, we're part of a national organization, Society of American Magicians, and we have a youth club that meets every Friday, ages 7 to 17, and they can come and learn magic and enjoy other youth who also share their passion. Every Saturday, we have a magic show, and it's $5 to come see the show, and the money goes to that youth who's performing. So they get to go home with a little money and have an audience to share their magic. Well, the best thing about magic is that you can share smiles. So I have two major passions in life. One is to share the art of magic through showing how you can create smiles. And so I love talking about the magic of kindness ‸ because that's where you can actually create smiles, and I think that's being very kind. And another passion I have is working with children with special needs, and I think that magic can certainly help them feel better about themselves, whether they're watching magic or performing magic. What I like

get from the city. I started my relationship with the city of Cocoa nearly 30 years ago when I took ‸ a faculty position at UCF's Cocoa campus right there off of Clear Lake. And what I noticed first, and what I was impressed with first, was all of the amazing community events. These events bring the community together.

So when I wanted to put in the magic shop, that's exactly what I wanted as my backdrop. A community that was vibrant and that had events and that was family oriented.
