The City of Cocoa, in partnership with Waste Management, will be changing the procedure for yard waste collection in the fall of 2021. Small yard waste items should continue to be placed in your appropriate yard waste container and placed curbside for the collection on your regularly scheduled containerized yard waste collection day. Additional yard waste items can be placed in the waste management garbage container, provided the garbage container is empty prior to placing yard waste in it. Keep piles clear of storm drains and containers away from power lines. Also, be sure your container is oriented correctly towards the road and the waste management vehicle. Large, loose, yard waste piles exceeding 3 cubic yards, or about the size of a picnic table, that cannot fit in the provided waste management yard waste container, will require a scheduled pickup. pickup, residents should email the City of Cocoa Public Works Department at yardwaste at cocofl.org, or call [phone removed] during regular business hours. Collection will occur within 10 business days. Loose items outside of the provided yard waste container will not be collected without the resident scheduling a pickup. All waste management containers and yard waste piles must be placed in front of the residential service address to ensure prompt and accurate service. Waste placed in front of vacant lots will not be serviced as there is no account linked with that address. The City of Cocoa strives to serve our community with pride. These changes will provide a more positive and efficient experience for our residents.
