No agenda from the City is on file for this meeting.
The recording's machine transcription is below. It is unverified: words and names may be misheard, and it cannot establish who acted or how anyone voted.

Transcript Partial transcript
Machine transcription of the meeting recording. The words are the recognizer's, except where a passage is marked as corrected or machine re-recognized; most have
not been checked against the audio, so words, numbers and names can be misheard.
It describes what was said. It cannot establish who voted how, an amount or an outcome — the City's
minutes do that (above).
A time links to its passage, and “Copy link” copies that link. “▶ Play” opens the recording at that moment, on YouTube; on this page it moves the player above the transcript.
675 suspect passage(s) marked in place.
How this transcript was made. New machine transcription of the whole recording, with 23 voices separated from the audio.
62 short machine repair(s) (71 word(s)) are labelled in place, with the original words beside them: an ordinary word was replaced only where two further machine readings agreed on a different one.
Checks run on this transcript: the recognizer's own warning signs, whether a voice was detected where the words are and a language review for likely mishearings.
A second, independent machine reading was compared with it word by word: the same words for 88.9% of 23,396 content words.
Dotted words (872 places) are ordinary wording differences: hover or tap to see the other reading.
675 passages (27% of the words) are marked suspect: their words are not shown ("unclear audio") and support no statement: numbers, amounts, negation or names differ; the language review questioned them; or no voice was detected there.
Agreement between two machine readings is not verification.
Speakers were separated by voice. A plain name rests on evidence tied to that voice; “provisional” is a name from an earlier text-only pass and is not verified; “Speaker N” is an unidentified voice.

I loved it. I have people that come off the tour bus and they'll say, gosh, how do you do that? Or why do you do that? And I said, just to humanize the post office. And I love doing it.

I walk that six miles a day. And people are always asking me how many miles do I walk? And I tell them every 100 days that I work, I walk 600 miles. And I attribute that to my health.
What I noticed over the last 30 years, being my mailman, ‸ you were always cheery, but you were always very efficient. People don't talk about this. You ‸ didn't miss houses or businesses very much. And your replacements that would come in on your off days, they would never deliver mail.

Stevens. During the ceremony, the French consul general awarded the insignia of the knight in the National Order of the Legion of Honor, which is the highest French distinction to Mr. Stevens, who fought alongside France during World War II. Mr. Stevens has been a resident in the city of Cocoa since 1972, and was employed as a mechanic in our fleet division for close to a decade. Mr. Stevens also just recently celebrated his 90th birthday. Mayor Parrish wrote a letter to Mr. Stevens that was read at his ceremony, and we'll read it again here tonight.

One is, a lot of people don't realize when you listen to the media, the national media, but when you study history, like Mike Blake and I and others, you find out really quick, when you get the mellow honor, really, ‸ from France, what does that mean? Well, I'll tell you what the French...
Unlike what you've heard in history, in the media, the French have always come through for the American cause, for liberty. ‸ Let me tell you something else. When we fought for a revolution, they kept... In 1776, they kept the crown, which is England, off balance
us, just to get organized, just barely to get organized, to declare our freedom and keep it. And as the years went on, ‸ we got stronger. But the French has always been there ‸ with us. So to me, when I heard that, when Connie had contacted me, I was ‸ pretty excited. And, you know,

um so you can see here um we're going to start with our facebook page and you can you'll notice that we had a decrease in our number of fans on our Facebook page. But when you see the next two slides, you'll see the importance, the more important numbers. So you can see our daily, um our average daily total reach was 3 151 which was an increase of 1884 daily total impressions from last quarter. So even though our numbers went down, the people that are actually viewing and and clicking through and seeing our page has increased tremendously, which is the best thing. So we definitely want the people that are going to be engaging with our page, not necessarily just liking it and moving on. We want people who are going to be doing things with it. So that's actually a really good thing.

And they have a new album out called High Road. And that influenced me because we need to make decisions based upon the high road. Take the high road. Don't do the negative. Do what's right. And the city did something that was right just the other day. And you have some papers in front of you, and I just want to explain to you what they are. But then the high road thing kicked in. ‸ I'm like, okay, now wait a minute. What is this? And evidently this is that money. So thinking about the high road, I'm like, okay, I'm not so sure I should be getting this in a lump sum. I'm kind of thinking it should have been figured in with my average final compensation way back then. But you know evidently it wasn't available or whatever occurred. I don't know. But what I'm here in front of you tonight to say is uh Monday of next week, the Fire Pension Board meets and
and just ask if they would consider uh having this submitted to the actuary to recalculate uh My pension. She was committed to improving the conditions of housing for many residents as well as promoting home ownership um I just know that a lot of people here in City Hall and people that she worked with throughout the city will miss her tremendously. And I just ask that you keep her family.

Maybe consider having another another plaque dedication at the pavilion by the riverfront. And if that's the case, there's a few individuals that I would like to nominate to have

beach My beach side friends, you know, they try to rid me a little bit, and they'll give me a project they throw me something good and I said well have fun at your height your height restriction meeting tonight you know so you know so hopefully it moves to Cocoa and we add more jobs that's my point so thank you and then
ago, and they moved it to the county and I heard this this fight for years and years Mr. Blake I want you to hear this but ‸ the years and years ago there was a big debate about how Cocoa was named okay and the truth is, you know, you hear things like there was a Cocoa plant and it was
you know, maybe 1915. It's about 25 years or so. There's a big building over here on the on the Cocoa River front next to the uh to the dock the big heavy dock they had and this big building had a giant mural painted on it. It was uh Baker's Cocoa. Okay? And it's and there's pictures of it I meant to bring one I was gonna give one to Sam to uh put up but I gotta find it but anyways what happened to me the last month was kind of interesting. uh The old steamboat captains used to travel the uh north and south on the Indian river and and there was literally hundreds of small ships and boats and flat bottoms that would that would uh come in and they would

but here's an ironic thing that's happened to me in the last uh month probably more like two months I have a lot of friends that go up down the uh Indian river and the uh
I had three different friends of mine and they don't even live here. They'll just be passing ‸ say, hey, good job, tower looks good. And they'll shoot me ‸ a picture from the tower I mean from the uh uh intercoastal out here in the middle of the river on
when these old captains would come in and all they saw was this big building that said Cocoa on it so you know the big debate for years was how it got named but I think we all know how it got named and our tower kind of you ‸ know uh
thought it was interesting because now I'm getting sort of the same thing what these guys had realized and that's it for my report tonight and everybody have it
I have one more thing yes I forgot something ‸ I don't know why I forgot it Mr. Blake forgot it too but the um the river county democrats are having their banquet next week and um well I'm not going come
out here, that um they are having a very, very special honoree, something they don't normally do at the democratic banquet and they will be honoring Mr. Dick Blake for his years of service to Brevard County and public 40
that ‸ Mr. Blake is going to be honored at the democratic banquet for his service so anybody who wants to go they still have some tickets available. Okay.
